Baby Naming Ceremonies
Congratulations on your new addition to your gorgeous family!
Your baby’s naming ceremony or baby blessing is a very personal and cherished moment for your family, where you choose to celebrate, welcome your new baby’s arrival and announce their naming, to family or extended family and friends.
Note: A baby naming ceremony is not legal and does not need to be religious.
During the ceremony you can share your hopes and dreams for your child. You may also make a simple vow such as to love and care for your child and announce your promises for your child’s life.
You may choose to include family and friends to share a unique celebration intimately, or elaborately. As parents, you may wish to state your family’s beliefs and values and include siblings in taking part in a family ritual which can also involve a keepsake treasure or tribute. Guardians can be announced, make a pledge and sign the baby naming celebration certificate.
There are no rules or legalities or timescales involved, although baby naming ceremonies are becoming increasingly popular to take place shortly after the baby is born, or close to and part of the child’s first birthday celebration where more of the child’s first year’s adventures and personality can be reflected on in the ceremony.
